Artist statement: When stress becomes chronic, it can lead to major health problems such as cardiovascular complications, psychiatric complications and immune system complications. Furthermore, the chronically ill become stressed more than oher individuals because of treatments and heavy therapies, regular physical exams, fear and anxiety. All these factors induce stress and weaker attention abilities.
My artistic approach is my way to focus on training attention in order to bring mental process under greater voluntary control and thereby foster specific capacities such as calm, clarity and concentration. The white surface of my support become my safe haven, source of calm and clarity. And painting become my way to explore slowness, patience and attention.
